Belgium's blackwave. fuse funk and fast flows on summer groove "Whasgood?!"
Belgium-based blackwave. are a hip-hop duo dipped in retro-tinged funk, as they dish out 90s infused summer groove "Whasgood?!".
The hugely nostalgic melody of "Whasgood?!" sees the Antwerp duo blackwave. fuse deck scratches and boombox pow's over a beat as funky as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
The colourful melody bounces between jazzy trumpets and a baggy bassline, laying down a summer groove for Willem Ardui and jaywalker to inject their hip-hop infused vocals.
The fast flows contrast joyfully with the melodic, soul-infused chorus that'll have you wearing Jazzy Jeff attire in no time.
Speaking about their new release, the duo explained, "The track is about finding ways to clear your mind when you’re in the midst of something big that consumes practically all of your time, which in our case is our debuting careers as artists. Even though, in all honesty, we would like to take a break from it all sometimes, we both know that there ain't no time to slow down if we ever plan to reach our goals and fulfill our dreams."
"It’s about the dream of having reached everything you ever wanted and being able to just go for a ride in your Cadillac, get dragged away and clear your mind.It might be something that we’ll never reach, but for now, we’ll take all our chances to increase the odds!"
