Hawaii-via-LA's Beauty Queen captures long-shadowed summer evenings on "Out Of Touch"
LA-based and Hawaii-born, it's no wonder Beauty Queen's music radiates all the sun she's soaked up over the years. Hazy new single "Out Of Touch" – the title track from Beauty Queen's forthcoming EP – is no exception.
"Out Of Touch" is a warm, bittersweet cut of the indie-pop persuasion. Katie Iannitello's vocals are saturated with reverb; the perfect accompaniment to lazy, Beach House-esque guitar. As with the rest of the EP, "Out Of Touch"'s production comes from Daywave's Henry Nowhere. The end result is a sound that somehow captures the long-shadowed evenings of late summer, laced with an undercurrent of teenage regret.
