"Michigan" is another impressive dream-pop offering from rising NYC crew Barrie
First impressing us their inititial offering "Canyons" earlier this year, NYC collective Barrie return with another dreamlike masterclass in effortless chillwave with their magical new track.
Featuring their signature groove and 80s synth undertones, "Michigan" sees Barrie utilise a more traditional rock group set up than we have seen on their previous outings.
The track sees the group place a greater emphasis on the twinkling guitar riffs that ripple with their crystal-encrusted melodies as the whole track grows into a kaleidoscope of tantalising calm, akin to looking into the deep depths of the ocean as it glistens in the sun.
The serenity of Barrie's vocals sit right at the centre of the track, suggestive of a heavy dreamlike state and meditating over nostalgic memories, and providing the final ingredient in a track that once again marks Barrie out as an ever-exciting prospect.
The track comes as the final track in a series of singles in the lead up to the band's new EP entitled Singles which is due to be released on 12 October via Winspear.
