Listen: Barnaby – Fresh Made Lemonade
Unsigned south coast RnB artist Barnaby released his shimmering new track ‘Fresh Made Lemonade’ late last month.
His first solo piece, following several collaborations with friends in his hometown, Southampton, ’Fresh Made Lemonade’ pays homage to D’Angelo and Usher with Barnaby’s glossy croon layered over aqueous synths and stuttering beats. The soulful, perfumed coda, ‘all I want to do is to spend sweet nights with you, sipping on sweet lemonade’ is just about the smoothest you’ll hear this week.
Barnaby aims to release his first mixtape over the summer months. Let’s hope it drops before we see the last of the sun because an EP chock full of jams this slick would go hand-in-hand with a warm breeze, the smell of sun lotion and maybe even an ice-cool jug of fresh made…
