Azekel's dazzling new track is a vulnerable look at young family life
East London's ultra-smooth R&B king Azekel has shared another brilliant tune - this one's called "Don't Wake The Babies".
The track follows last month's "Can We Have Fun (In This House Tonight)" and was produced with Adelight. It's a flowing, intimate offering with synths that shimmer like surgical steel and wobbly moments of warped glory - but behind all the noise there's the sound of a young man grappling with the titanic tasks of fatherhood and family life.
"'Don't Wake The Babies' is part of the first chapter of my album," says Azekel, "where I let loose on my thoughts and experiences being a young family man."
The producer/multi-instrumentalist is following up last year's Raw, Vol. 2 release (as well as his Gorillaz and Massive Attack collaborations) with another impressive chunk of slick R&B greatness. It's another preview of his upcoming debut record, which is set to be presented in three chapters.
