Audiobooks create chaos in multi-genre offering "Hot Salt"
Audiobooks create a wonderfully warped pop world cooked up in summer heat on new offering, "Hot Salt".
Commencing on a light hearted synth melody, Evangeline Ling eases into the electronic beat by speaking plainly of a summer frolic to enhance their retro tinged electronica.
David Wrench arrives later, and leads the track into a psychedelic frenzy as the chaotic chorus unites all the instruments in a combustion of 70s infused heat.
Speaking about "Hot Salt", the duo explained, "We wrote and recorded Hot Salt on Midsummer last year, channelling the sun’s rays through a magnifying glass of 70s synths and electric sitars to initiate a Donna Summer Solstice.”
"Hot Salt" is the first single since Audiobook's debut EP Gothenberg arrived in April, and comes with news of a free headline show at London's Sebright Arms on 19 June.
