Listen: astronomyy – “Drivin Me Crazy”
‘When I hit the bottom, I get this feeling/it feels like everyone is at the top’, bemoans soul smoothie astronomyy (real name Arron, from Worcestershire) on new track “Drivin Me Crazy”.
Yes, someone’s not been taking his fragile soul into much consideration recently, and while they’re off doing their own thing, Arron’s felt inclined to pen another of his startlingly refined RnB ballads. This time trappy drums and delicately picked guitar filigrees play the starring role alongside our man’s liquorice-dark whispers, leaving the atmosphere hazy, heavyhearted and fittingly, cloaked in an air of the unknown.
Alongside Londoner Ben Khan, astronomyy feels like one of the most natural successors to blog golden boy Jai Paul’s crown.
