Asha Gold surrenders to new love on feel-good new single "Debut"
Falling head over heels, singer/songwriter Asha Gold serves up a slice of relatable R&B-infused pop with her third single of the year.
The follow up to spellbinding singles "Too Good" and "Passenger", Gold's irrestible R&B melodies are once again mesmering on "Debut".
She's seen it on her favourite Netflix shows, watched it all go down in her favourite movies, but letting go and allowing yourself fall in love is always difficult to do. On "Debut" Asha Gold bottles the anxieties and insecurites of getting to know someone new while realising it could definitely be something more.
Created in quarantine over Zoom with producer Mitch Jones, Gold explains "I wrote "Debut" about manoeuvring the new and foreign feelings that hit you when you start to fall for someone. I flit between multiple different emotions throughout the song - an accurate depiction of how I was feeling at the time."
Set to be the opening track on Gold's forthcoming debut EP, Gold says "I love how the intro is reminiscent of the orchestra tuning before we began to play.” Inspired by powerful women, Gold cites Beyoncé, Billie Eilish and Rosalía as key inspirations in both her music and life noting their ability to retain creative control across their projects.
