Artificial Pleasure channels Bowie, Rogers and Byrne on "I’ll Make It Worth Your While"
London trio Artificial Pleasure used to be in Night Engine. Barely a year old, they're crafting a stunning take on cereberal electro-artpop that clashes the bombasity of Talking Heads against "Let's Dance"-era David Bowie/Nile Rogers grooves.
New track "I'll Make It Worth Your While" comes with a batshit-crazy video that you'll appreciate if you have a fetish for pregnant men. The song itself carves a sound that fans of The 1975 will probably love. It's got the same shakes and funk as the Manchester outfit but with a whole different agenda.
“[It's] about the desire to sometimes lose control, to lose yourself, to escape from whatever is going on,” says frontman and guitarist Phil McDonnell. “It's about not caring, at least for a short period of time, and letting go. I get the urge to go wild but I'm often too self-conscious.”
