Are You Ready? Prides have a brand new single
Prides are back with another new single - it's called "Are You Ready" and it's an accomplished nugget of golden gorgeousness.
The Glasgow-based twosome are following up "Rome", May's stomping, jerky opus.
"Are You Ready" sees Prides inject their passionate pop vibes with enormous emotion - this one'll be tugging at your heart from first beat to last. Beats crash like thunder underneath a whirring waltz of entwined axes while Stewart Brock's voice is cracking (both in the sense it's excellent and in the sense that it's at an emotional breaking point).
Explaining the the tune's themes and ideas, Prides say:
"'Are You Ready' started life as a stripped back '80s-inspired electro ballad, and grew arms and legs from there. The two interweaving guitar parts really pushed it forward, and we're excited to get it out on the road. It's one of the first tracks we wrote this year, and it's one that seems to symbolise where we're heading. Lyrically it's about forgiveness. It's about those long nights you stay awake trying to figure out what you want, talking till the early hours, drinking too much, smoking too much, thinking too much. Saying the wrong thing, saying the right thing, saying anything."
