To those that heard it, Ang Low’s debut single, ‘Life Goes Down’, was the song of the summer. A brilliantly dazzling RnB/pop crossover; you got the feeling that one well-placed radio play would have sent it spiralling into the stratosphere. With it’s love-fuelled chorus still ringing in our ears, we’ve now been treated to a second track from the somewhat mysterious Brooklynite.
‘Can’t Describe Her’ is a somewhat darker creature; thick basslines and dense production juxtaposed by a vocal range that dips from a playful falsetto to the huskier delivery of the verses. Once again, however, it’s Ang Low’s brilliantly melodic hooks that steal the show; from the bouncing playfulness of the chorus to the more measured approach found elsewhere, it’s another huge track that’s ready-made for the big league. A true star he is.
