Amilli marks herself out as a fearsome new talent on infectious track "Rarri"
Now and again, a song comes along that begs your full attention. "Rarri" is that song.
Amilli is based in Bochum in Germany and for an eighteen-year-old, she appears to have a lot of wisdom on her shoulders. "Rarri" sees her etching a distinctive R&B sound over laid-back beats as she playfully pokes fun at those who live their lives chasing the dollar sign and obsessing over designer clothes.
The main thing about this song, however, is its hook-laden chorus, which sees Amilli cheekily repeat "Prada/ Fendi/ Louis Vuitton/ You still don't look like Yves Saint Laurent..." Despite its playful centrepiece, there is the sense that Amilli is basically just encouraging her contemporaries to look beyond materialism and loosen up a bit.
Upon first listen, it becomes very apparent that there is a very strong chance that this could become a summer anthem if the track keeps growing at the speed that it has been, especially as it is ultimately a track that was made to soundtrack a summer of wild adventures.
Amilli is evidently harking from the same effortlessly cool gang that birthed the likes of Billie Eilish and Mavi Phoenix, but in her own cheeky, but incredibly focussed way.
