Stockholm's Amille proves her pop credentials on huge new offering "White Lies"
Forever home to pure pop perfection, Stockholm has once again offered up a delightful new pioneer of the craft in the shape of Amille - and here's your final warning that she is probably about to write some of your favourite new pop bangers.
Amille is an artist who has honed her craft over nearly a decade, tucking herself away to secretly write and produce songs that no one knew about.
But by 2015, the secret was out and Amille began to unleash her songs on the world. She has slowly unveiled her keen storytelling wisdom and immaculate songcraft, but with "White Lies" it feels like we are seeing her years of secret songwriting come to full fruition.
With the new track, Amille takes the classic pop song trope of pairing a hard-hitting beat and catchy hook with deceptively sad theme as she reflects on a past relationship that turned sour with new eyes. Yet she makes this classic concoction her own as there's an acceptance that whips around her lyricism but also a shimmer of melancholy that stabs with the pounding beat.
Explaining what the track means to her, she says "‘White Lies’ is a farewell to a former relationship. I looked back on something that passed by in a blur with crystal clarity. I had a lot of fun contrasting this raw admission with a heavy, clubby vibe."
"White Lies" comes as the first in a string of new releases due out this year from the artist and paves the way for things to come.
