Amanda Delara feels the fear and does it anyway on "Running Deep", the title track of her new EP

We've been fans of Delara since "Dirhamz", and her EP title track "Running Deep" slows things down and turns up the intensity following the banging anthems "We Don't Run From Anyone" and "Keep Your Dollars".

A sweeping ballad of synths and spidery guitar, Delara sings of turning her dreams into reality - and of facing down her demons and giving everything to her music career.

As the Norwegian sings "I'm done with all this counting sheep" in what's her strongest vocal to date, you can't help but believe in her conviction. Running Deep is a fantastic collection of songs from someone who is only going to get better.

We spoke to Delara to find out a bit more about the EP.

BEST FIT: Hey Amanda, how excited are you about the release of your second EP?

AMANDA DELARA: "Hey! I’m extremely excited! I have spent a lot of time in the studio last months to make it perfect, so it feels good to put my craft out! I'm so thankfull for working with such great producers on this EP."

Is Running Deep a good indicator of where you are as an artist right now?

"Running Deep definitely shows a whole other side of myself. A more personal side where I open up about my inner battles and thoughts which I don’t think many people knew I had. It’s really different from the Rebel EP where the sound was darker, more attitude and explicit lyrics about cocaine dealers and bombs dropping in Tehran!! With this EP you get to know me more as a person, and I hope that some of the issues I bring up makes people out there with the same thoughts and problems feel less lonely."

Can you tell us a bit more about the title track?

"The title track, 'Running Deep', was a track I actually wrote 3 years ago. I was in my last year of high school and finally after getting my diploma, I said 'FUCK IT! I'm going to pursue this music thing. I can’t imagine myself doing anything else, so why should I run from what I want?' And that’s basically what 'Running Deep' is about."

What's been influencing you lately? What have you been listening to?

"I’ve been listening a lot to the Kali Uchis album Isolation. It is such a good vibe! Really inspiring that she also writes all of her own stuff. Also I’ve been listening a lot to SZA and Jorja Smith.. GIRL POWER! [❤]" ️

What's next for you? Another EP?Maybe an album?

"Good question! Maybe both?? I’m always in the studio making new songs, so I think it would be a shame not to release the good stuff!!"
