Amalie Bryde and Svetlana’s “Found Love” reiterates self-worth
Exploring a modern-day fairy tale that enforces people to love themselves for who they are, Danish artist Amalie Bryde taps London-based singer-songwriter Svetlana for a slice of sultry heaven in "Found Love".
Whether you're sitting with a glass of wine on a late evening or taking a stroll on a summer’s day, Amalie Bryde and Svetlana have created the perfect track to wind down with. Underpinned by a luxurious and rich feel, "Found Love" shimmers an irresistible essence that's speckled with an opulent saxophone. Emphasising the importance of navigating self-love and worth, both singers unite to send a message of empowerment to their listeners.
“As women, generationally we are taught that we need three things in life to be happy; a man, kids, and a shiny new house. Svetlana and I know that’s no longer the case for every woman, and we sing about how finding love for oneself is all we need to be truly content in life,” Amalie explains.
Featured as one of five tracks on Bryde’s newly released EP, In & Out of Love, the rising star begins to form a candid relationship with her audience as she delves into the highs and lows of relationships.
Stripping it back to the most important form of love, both Amalie and Svetlana refer to the traditional path of seeking validation from a man and instead reach for the modern-day approach in which more women feel liberated in finding tranquillity from no other than themselves, and rightfully so; “I only thought of love as a child / As love as a man healing all the parts of me that I could never stand / But then I grew up”, Svetlana sings.
Submerged in a soulful and warming space, the richness of their vocal tones collide in a nostalgic sphere that’s embedded with old school undertones; a perfect pairing to their contemporary pen.
Noting Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, and JLo as some of her biggest musical influences, Amalie Bryde continues to prove her worth as an artist to watch within the neo-soul and R&B space. Embarking on her journey as a strong and independent woman, "Found Love" is the cherry on top of what will surely be a successful career ahead.
