Listen: Alphabets Heaven x Deft - "Pride & Joy"
Brighton-based musicmaker Alphabets Heaven has teamed up with Deft, a producer from Croydon, to make some beautiful, beautiful sounds. "Pride & Joy" is taken for the former's Everything Stays The Same EP.
Combining syrupy beats with expansive and glistening ambience, this piece of music shimmers with bright vitality, bristles with thickets of mechanistic percussion, lulls you into a lounge mood and then exclaims its own manic footwork flavours. A stuttering synthesiser accompanies a skittering beat and a hypnagogic plasma bass and sleepy vocal sample, "pride and joy", culminates into something rich, textured, and wonderfully alive.
