Alex Izenberg releases velveteen dream single "To Move On"
Los Angeles singer/songwriter Alex Izenberg is sharing "To Move On", the first single from upcoming debut LP Harlequin.
It’s been a long time in the making. After five years of writing and recording under pseudonyms (although who is to say Alex Izenberg isn’t another pseudonym?), the Weird World artist has put his name to the single as the first track released from his upcoming album, Harlequin.
"You don't know what it’s like to move on" says a disco sweet lacquer, pinned tight to piano jabs. Because who ever did? The track builds and builds until the swagger and sway falls into sparse whispers. It’s a soft wreck that feels like gold spangles settled in ink and a vaudeville smile. That feels like finger snapping down the street and some key tapping under part of you that knows it needs to move move move on.
