Listen: Ajimal – “Apathy/Apatheia” (live piano version) [Premiere]
An exclusive listen of Edinburgh-via-North East artist Ajimal’s trademark haunted piano pop; hear the live performance of “Apathy/Apatheia” at Sofar Sounds, London.
On this gently arresting track, piano chords ebb and flow beneath vocalist Fran O’Hanlon’s crystallised falsetto, before swelling at the song’s courageous crescendo. The live recording, which features on Sofar Sound’s debut compilation album, is one of thirteen specially-recorded tracks, allowing the listener to hear every piano stroke, every breath.
Ajimal plays Roundhouse Rising this Friday (21 February) with Fé, Prides, Blessa and more. Sofar Sounds’ digital compilation album is out now, with vinyl release on 10 March.
