Sitting in a curious spot between Thom Yorke and Metronomy, this track is Thomas Savage’s most urgent release to date and adds a real sense of theatre to his usually close-guarded and complex sound.
"Warm Milk" is still an unusual number that contorts and twists sonically, changing quickly from minute to minute. Savage’s bewitching vocal acts as guide with a beguiling tone similar to Wild Beasts. Following on from first release "Flash In The Pan", VILDE continues to show alarming promise in both his composition and production.
Both are lifted from a forthcoming new album, Thud and Thomas offers some explanation to the overarching theme of the record: “I hadn’t any idea for a theme in the beginning, the conscious element in the process is quite limited. It’s mostly reliant upon feeling resonance in the words rather than a specific line of thought. Sometimes I bring in some more conscious thinking, but if I really succeed, they somehow manage to fall into linear coherency.
"I’m in it for the feeling of experiencing what poured out of me afterwards, rather than a tempting to express any sort of certainty. If I was certain about something I suppose it’d be better as a novel.”
