Sweden's LYSA unveils stylish dance-pop debut single "Beats And Battle Drums"
Based in Stockholm, 22-year-old Lisa Maria Jönsson today releases her debut single as LYSA.
On "Beats And Battle Drums", LYSA reveals a slightly soulful, gravel-tinged voice which recalls someone like Jess Glynne.
A piano intro gives way to huge beats, bright bursts of electronics and the squelch of bass synth and altogether it's very much the sound of 21st-century post-Swedish House Mafia pop music. "Beats & Battle Drums are powerful words to express the feeling of being invincible," says LYSA, "and about friendship and that it can give you a feeling of being strong and able to take on what ever challenge that might lie ahead of you."
It's damn good, and hopefully good enough to ensure LYSA doesn't have to keep doing shows like this.
