Stream Lanterns, the third album from Sufan Stevens collaborator Son Lux
Known to many as one third of s/s/s – a collaboration project with Sufjan Stevens and Serengeti, Ryan Lott – aka Son Lux – releases his third album next Monday (29 October) via Joyful Noise Recordings. A full stream of which is available from today here at Best Fit.
An intelligent, finely crafted record, Lanterns pitches Lott in meditative mode – the record brimming with experimental flourishes and deeply affecting nuances. Featuring an impressive ensemble of instrumentalists and singers, including Chris Thile (The Punch Brothers), Peter Silberman (The Antlers), DM Stith, Lily & Madeleine, Darren King (Mutemath), Ieva Berberian (Gem Club) and yMusic (Dirty Projectors, Bon Iver) – Lanterns bridges an unusual gap between old-world music discipline and next-level experimentation.
In addition to CD & Digital of the record, Joyful Noise will release two separate versions of limited edition vinyl. The first, a ‘Deluxe VIP Edition’ – 500 copies on black & clear “colour in colour” vinyl with each copy hand-numbered and personally thumb-printed in silver paint by Son Lux himself. Whilst a second ‘Split-Color Edition’ is available without the extra trimmings which is limited to 1200 copies. More info and the order link can be found here.
