Stream 'Open', the terrific new album from piano and electronics duo Grandbrothers
This Friday sees the release of Open, the second album from Dusseldorf's Grandbrothers. Today we're bringing you the new record in full.
The piano and electronics duo made up of Swiss engineer/mechanic/sofware designer Vogel and German-Turkish pianist Sarp has made a fascinating and textured album which feels like it's been constructed from various snippets and samples of a host of instruments. However, every sound you hear on Open comes only from the piano.
"We always think about what physical impact the songs can have on the audience, for instance whether they can dance to them," says Sarp. "We don’t only make music for listening to, after all. As much as we enjoy playing concert halls with the audience seated we also love to play at sweaty clubs where people are standing and dancing around us."
