Dios Mio air their stirring grunge-pop debut EP Hinterland
London band Dios Mio unveil their debut EP, Hinterland, which hears the quartet effortlessly tether grunge sentiments with pop.
Their lastest single "Treehouse", also featuring on the record, is a creeping slice of dark pop that bares similarities to doomy sister duo 2:54.
Speaking about their new EP, the band says: "'Hinterland' is a place lying beyond what is visible or known and in these five track we search for it, in the shadow of an embrace, or a shimmer of heat over asphalt or the vacuum of lost love."
They add that the EP explores "intimacy and enmity, religion and apathy".
Noticeably, new song and central track "Breathe" gives the listener a moment of relief from the band's oft-ambitious musical heights, here sitting atop shuffling rhythms and gorgeous, airy harmonies.
