Stream Emperor X's Nineteen Live Recordings
Over the course of six years, and with nothing but a guitar and a backpack full of delay pedals, C. R. Matheny – the brainchild behind Emperor X – collected dozens of scratchy lo-fi recordings of an American adventure to create Nineteen Live Recordings – an album that takes the oft over wrought concept of a ‘live’ album and actually makes for a genuinely thrilling experience – albeit one of hushed intimacy.
The performances on the album – available to stream exclusively in full here at Best Fit – reflect the live show Emperor X will bring to Europe. Solo guitar, solo voice, hallucinatory lyrics, and a stereo field of echo and improvised crowd interaction.
