Listen: HAIM – Falling (Duke Dumont Remix)
Music’s two hottest come together as Duke Dumont puts deep house to one side to rework 2013′s sisters of pop, Haim.
Responsible for the mind-numbingly infectious ‘The Giver’ and daytime radio’s ‘I Need You (110%)’, Dumont is quickly joining the Cyril Hahns of this world by remixing hand-picked pop hits and bringing dance music to the masses.
‘Falling’ loses none of its 80s fun in this reinvention however, as that increasingly distinctive Haim sound (despite its Fleetwood Mac echoes) is given room to float through over lush synths and a balearic beat. Championed by queen of the airwaves Annie Mac, this one can sit nicely alongside the flurry of brilliant reworkings to emerge in recent weeks. Disco dance with our Song of the Day below.
