PREP celebrate summer with “Cheapest Flight”
Our British summer may be proving as unreliable as ever but PREP appear to have the answer and are providing some real respite with their blissed-out debut outing.
The enigmatic, mix-match four-piece outfit is comprised of a hip hop producer, a classical composer, a house DJ and a singer-songwriter whose individual credits span from Drake to Eric Prydz and it figures: this first release takes inspiration from the likes of Steely Dan and is reminiscent of more recent work from Metronomy and even Mr. Hudson And The Library.
From its opening and recurring electronic motif, through neatly orchestrated horns and a jazzy, vibesy chord progression, “Cheapest Flight” is a much-needed funk-fuelled trip to a sun-filled beach.
