Singer/songwriter Lauv has completed his playlist project I met you when I was 18. with the release of four final tracks including the emotive "Enemies".
A more down-tempo number compared to the charging "Chasing Fire" and infectious "I Like Me Better", this track showcases Ari Leff’s vocal as distortion remains minimal. The production breaths space into the music that has become trademark, which sees releases from this project of intimate confessionals magnified to stadium-sized singalongs.
Speaking of the forward-thinking playlist, Leff commented “I met you when I was 18. is a collection of songs, a story. About moving to New York City when I was 18 and falling in love for the first time. A story about trying to figure out your own identity whilst being deeply intertwined with someone else’s. It’s a story that, since I released my first song 'The Other' in 2015, has been told a bit out of order. In pieces, in fragments and in moments reminisced, but now here it is, in it’s entirety: I met you when I was 18. is not an album, but a body of work nonetheless. I hope you enjoy.”
His streaming numbers now comfortably surpass a billion and with a devoted following across the globe, Lauv is primed to capture his fans affections and continues to produce slick, polished power pop. After playing to a packed out Islington Academy earlier this year, Lauv returns for a headline show at Koko on September 18.
