“Nothing inspires me more than master craftsmanship” – rising folk star Luke Sital-Singh tells Best Fit, as the young London singer guides us through some of his own personal passions. Currently promoting his new Tornados EP – Luke’s first release for a major label – Sital-Singh hand picks four of his favourite craftsman. “These people remind me of a different world. A world of more skill and more passion. More dedication and obsession with the simple stuff.”

Cut Brooklyn

I love Joe’s story of needing an outlet for his insatiable desire to make stuff. Makes me think if you don’t do what you do from a burning, almost painful yearning to do it. Then do something else.

Quoddy

To me the most inspiring craftsmanship is the stuff we take for granted. Shoes. My shoes are all pieces of crap. But great shoes made by hand by a place like Quoddy are pieces of art. I love watching artists obsess over making something as seemingly insignificant as a shoe.

Hiut Denim

I’ve become a bit of an evangelist for this company. But they really do make the best jeans. They also produce a Yearbook each..year, which is basically a manifesto for all of the above.

Yanuziello Guitars

I couldn’t talk about makers without featuring a guitar maker. I’ve never played one of this guy’s guitar but I just know they’ll be awesome. A handmade guitar is one of the most beautiful objects in the world. They have the most life, the most beauty and they give you the most songs.

Luke Sital-Singh headlines London’s Tabernacle on November 5. The Tornados EP is released through Parlophone on Monday 4 November.
