Lemar Obika is one of the chosen few that have broken through the wall of talent shows and proven themselves to be formidable force both in terms of personality and ability.

Free from the record deal that saw him release five records with Sony, the 34 year old is about to drop a new collection of songs on his own terms. We sent Rebecca Taylor – she of Best Fit favourites Slow Club and the biggest Lemar fan on the planet – to interview the Tottenham-born singer about his origins, career and the chances of a love-match between the two.

Lemar’s new album Invincible is released digitally on 7 October and physically the following day.

Slow Club, on the other hand, are set to play five dates across Europe from 23-29 November. Where will they play? The fans can decide and vote via Detourjam.
