26 October 2018, 10:15

Júníus Meyvant takes the Best Fit Q&A ahead of his set Best Fit's Iceland Airwaves showcase in Reykjavīk next month. Meyvant's second album Across The Borders drops on 9 November via Icelandic indie label, Record Records.

What's your present state of mind and being?

Calm and lost in thought.

What's the most overrated virtue?

Dignity. Every person loses it’s dignity at some point in life.

What one thing have you learnt from your parents?

Good Hospitality. I broke a lot of rules but they never threw me out.

What the most desirable quality you look for in a romantic partner?

Kindness and trust.

What and where was the greatest meal you ever ate?

The family christmas goose at my parents every christmas. Don’t worry, it’s a vegan goose.

What's your most treasured possession?

Faith in mankind.

What was the last dream you had about?

I lost faith in mankind.

If you could say something to your 15-year-old self, what would it be?

I think 18 hours of sleep is unhealthy.

You’re playing at Iceland Airwaves this year - our favourite festival in the world! Which other artist playing the festival would you absolutely love to collaborate with?

I think Aurora is interesting. I like her world of sound.

And finally, who would you most like to apologise to and why?

I think I have a clean slate for now. But then again you can always find someone to apologize to because I’m a flawed human being.

Júníus Meyvant plays at this year's Iceland Airwaves which runs from 7-10 November.
