CHINAH play the Newlywed Game with Best Fit before their appearance at Ja Ja Ja
The Newlywed Game is an American television game show that puts newly married couples against each other in a series of revealing question rounds to determine how well the spouses know or don't know each other…and we thought we’d test ace new Danish three-piece CHINAH on their knowledge of each other.
The Danes (who we'll discover are better at music than quiz games) are made up of singer Fine Glindvad, Simon Lars Gustav Andersson (synths) and Simon Kjær Lauridsen (guitar) and have already floored us with two incredible R&B-tinged glacial pop songs in the shape of "Away From Me" and "We Go Back". Sure, Nordic two-and-three-piece electronic artists haven't exactly been hard to come by over the last few years but this trio feels a bit special. Glindvad's vocals glide over smooth beats and bass, with that rock solid rhythm being occasionally disrupted by liittle blasts of ambient noise that give the tracks we've heard so far an extra bit of depth, raising CHINAH above the many electro-also-rans.
With their Ja Ja Ja club night appearance at The Lexington alongside Norway's The Fjords and Iceland's Axel Flovent just hours away, we took Simon A and Simon L aside to play a spot of (for UK readers) Mr and Mrs with us. First off, we have Simon L trying to show how well he knows bandmate Simon A by guessing his answers to a series of utterly key, relationship-breaking questions...
