20 Questions with... Band of Horses
After the recent press about Band Of Horses’ Ben Bridwell having, a very public, argument with a fan at a recent show, we thought it best to remind everyone that, in fact, Bridwell is the nicest man in indie-rockTM . We talk weed parties, dentists and how he’d like to warn Otis not to get on that plane. “Let’s get some!” Oh, and remember you can read a full blown interview we did with Bridwell here.
1. Describe your sound in 3 words. Derivative, Geography, songs. 2. What would be your ideal holiday? Jamaica with the missus. 3. What’s the best cure for a hangover? Ten cold beers and some weed. 4. What’s on your rider? I don’t really know. I should look. 5. How do you get ready for a live show? Usually by almost falling asleep followed by constant pacing. 6. Favourite song to play live? A song we wrote for a friend in Atlanta. It’s very crude. The working title would be: Don’t Get Fucked. 7. When was the last time you told a lie? In France on our last tour I told some strangers we were Canadian. We ended up hanging out with them all day and had to confess that we are Americans. I’m still very ashamed. USA! USA! 8. Who would win in a fight, a stoat or a goat and why? I’m not too familiar with the Stoat. I know it looks like they’re wearing white underpants which I like. I’m gonna go with the Goat though, just because of the height advantage. 9. What was the last album you bought? The Bees - Octopus. 10. If you could rid the world of one song - what would it be? I’m Your Baby Tonight by Whitney Houston. 11. Who would play you in a film based upon your life? Jet Li. 12. Dead or alive. What 5 acts would you have play with you at a festival. Traveling Willburys cast together and solo. Orbison, Harrison, Dylan, Lynne and Petty. And if you could add Waylon Jennings that’d be nice. 13. Desert Island Disc? Pick only one. Neil Young - Decade. There’s two discs though and that might be cheating. 14. What’s your most memorable on the road story? After meeting those people in France we got lost drunk for three hours and no one could understand us, much less help us find our way to the bus. It was pouring rain, but at least my boots had holes in the soles. 15. If your life flashed before your eyes, what would be the highlights? Every time I got laid and playing baseball would be very nice. 16. Do you read your own reviews? Yes. 17. Are you a morning bird or a night fox? Morning bird and a night fox. I’ll sleep when our band is irrelevant. 18. If you could travel back in time where would you set the dial? December 10, 1967 I’d tell Otis Redding not to get on that plane. 19. What three things could you not live without? Food, water and my loved ones. 20. Tell us a fact about yourself we probably don’t already know. I’ve never been to a dentist.
