Sunfall Festival adds a new twist to a tried and tested formula
As each year rolls by, more and more festivals appear; seemingly out of nowhere, clogging up our diaries and leaving trails of redundant glitter strewn throughout our streets.
With the abundance of music festivals happening throughout the country, it can sometimes be hard to choose which ticket deserves your all-important card details. This choice is not only hard for the customer, but promoters and curators are having to find new and innovative ways to make their events unique. This is where south London based party Sunfall comes into its own.
Brought to you by the teams behind XOYO, The Nest, Phonox and also the sunnier climes of Outlook and Dimensions – Sunfall has added a new twist to a tried and tested formula. During the day partygoers descend upon Brockwell Park in Herne Hill, near Brixton, for hours of drinking, dancing and music provided by some of electronic music’s biggest names – such as Floating Points (pictured above), Ben UFO, The Black Madonna and Chicago house legend Larry Heard. Nothing out of the ordinary here, right? Well, that might be true, but it is when the sun goes down that things get interesting. As night time arrives revellers scatter themselves across London to continue the party at a variety of specially curated nights, put on by the underground’s brightest stars.
You can take in the worldwide inspired vibes down at the Jazz Café with Gilles Peterson and Romare, the hedonistic heights of Jackmaster and Jayda G at Village Underground, or the hip-hop leaning sounds of Madlib and Eric Lau down at XOYO – plus many more. The choice is yours, and all this included in the price of your ticket.
Not only that, but Sunfall is pushing the freshest talent into the limelight, with sets from Beautiful Swimmers, Henry Wu, Moses Boyd, Princess Nokia, Shanti Celeste – the list goes on.
