Øya Festival revels in new Norwegian sounds
Homegrown talent takes centre stage at Øya, a festival that continues to balance the best from Norway's many scenes with an incredible international line-up.
This year sees Robyn, Tame Impala, James Blake and Erykah Badu continue their 2019 domination of Europe's festival circuit but Norway's own Sigrid, Karpe, and Razika (playing their farewell show) share high billing.
Among the undercard there are too many highlights to mention with Stefflon Don, Tirzah, Black Midi, Ezra Collective and IDLES repping the best of British music right now. But it's also rich with new pickings from Norway's underground - from Pom Poko's frenetic art-dance to Shikoshwe's sublime floating pop and Girl in Red's forward-looking guitar mastery.
Norway has certainly been having a sustained musical moment this year and we've scoured the Øya line-up for our favourites
