On the canal with Trevor Moss & Hannah-Lou: An introduction
Heavenly Recordings’ folk darlings Trevor Moss & Hannah-Lou are jumping aboard a canal boat for a special tour of UK riverside venues and pubs. Here’s a little introduction from the duo themselves.
The best thing about being a musician is the adventure, spending most of our time on the road, meeting new people, and exploring new places. In 2010, after a few years of visiting the same old big city venues, we decided to explore somewhere new and so arranged a tour of England’s most beautiful village halls. Inspired by the experience, the architecture, and the people we met, we then challenged ourselves to delve deeper into the nooks and crannies of the country, and earlier this year put on a series of concerts inside the some of the rare remaining Tin Tabernacles. (see our tour film ‘11 Nights Under Tin’)
Now this June, the morning after our album launch in London, we’ve decided to board a canal boat, take to the Kennet and Avon Canal, and wind our way West toward our performance at Glastonbury festival, playing every night at canalside pubs and taking a few of our friends along for the journey. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the release of our new album Quality First, Last & Forever!
We’ll be keeping everyone up to date with our adventure with a daily diary here on The Line Of Best Fit (as long as we can find an internet connection!) With us on the boat will be fellow performers and good friends; Jack Day, Pepe Belmonte, and Benjamin Folke Thomas. We’ll have to punt all day everyday to navigate the canal and work together to pass through the many locks and take to the stage on time each night! The shows are all FREE ENTRY and all except the last one are in walking distance from a train station (direct line from London Paddington). So whether you’re travelling on foot, by road, rail or river, from the city or countryside we hope to see you there.
