How would you describe Alaska to someone who's never been?

If you bring a good coat, sensible shoes, and a camera, you're gonna have a good time. Drive for 20 minutes in either direction out of Anchorage and you're suddenly in a different world full of moose, mountains, and cabins. It's lovely.

Who are the best local musicians/bands/artists?

There's not too many of us out there, beyond us and Jewel. There's a pretty killer metal band based out of Anchorage called 36 Crazyfists. There's a handful of bands from the states with one or two Alaskan members though, like The Builders And The Butchers with our buddy Harvey Tumbleson.

What's the best venue to watch live music?

Huge fan of the TapRoot.

What's the best club?

Dance club? Gentleman's club? Ha, either way there's a good chance you'll get shot at either of those...

Where's the best place to buy records?

Obsession Records in Anchorage.

Where's the best place/s to eat?

For pizza, Moose's Tooth is unreal. For burgers, Arctic Roadrunner. For fancy stuff, Orso is delicious. Simon And Seafort's is great seafood with a killer view.

Best place/s to drink?

Chilkoot Charlie's and Darwin's Theory in Anchorage. For Wasilla, the Mug-Shot Saloon if you don't mind getting in some bar brawls from time to time.

Us.

I once convinced a girl I was dating that eskimos didn't exist, like leprechauns.

What are the best sights to see and places to visit?

Hatcher's Pass is amazing. The Homer Spit is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

How do you get around Alaska?

It's an enormous state with very few roads. You end up flying on a bunch of small planes or taking boats if you're trying to get to the deep parts.

Favourite local slang word/phrase?

Rally balls. Means hauling ass on a dirt bike, snowmachine, mud truck, boat, etc.

Where is the best place to relax?

Literally anywhere! It's huge!

What's the worst thing about Alaska?

Apocalyptical mosquitos. Huge and impossible to kill.

What's the best thing about Alaska?

You can never be too loud or too intoxicated in Alaska. It's expected behavior.
