“I first heard about Heidi Spencer from Stephanie Dosen (Massive Attack/Bella Union artiste) who had seen her when she lived in Nashville. She told about me this girl with the ‘insane voice’ (insane as in amazing not as in Bedlam) and I vowed to check her out as soon as I could. One thing I have learnt is that when a brilliant singer tells you about another brilliant singer, chances are they are usually spot-on. I fell in love with Heidi’s voice within about 10 seconds, and this song has become something I listen to constantly. The lyrics are superb, a longing for someone to be at home delivered with this chilling vocal style. Imagine Dolly Parton and Alan Sparhawk writing together. She’s really something else….”

Simon Raymonde is the founder of one of the countries finest and most loved independent labels Bella Union. He’s been involved in the music industry for many years, being an original member of 80′s cult heroes Cocteau Twins. Raymonde founded Bella Union with fellow Cocteau Twin Robin Guthrie in 1997 and has gone on to have huge success with acts such as Fionn Regan, Midlake, Lift To Experience and more recently Fleet Foxes. He is also a keen producer, having worked with The Duke Spirit (pictured), James Yorkston and Clearlake.
