Polaroids with Zak Abel
The North London pop/R&B singer-songwriter and Gorgon City collaborator was in town for a sell-out headline show at KOKO in celebration of his recently-released debut record and we caught up for some polaroids before he took to the stage.
Zak Abel first caught our attention with his early track and catchy pop anthem "Everybody Needs Love", and has since returned in full force with his first full length album, Only When We’re Naked, featuring the poignant soul-pop number "All I Ever Do (Is Say Goodbye)".
Abel explains "This album is about all types of being naked. When you’re naked you have nothing to hide - it’s about how vulnerable we all are. Sometimes being naked is telling someone you love them or you fucked up. I am so aware of all my human flaws and frailties, and we all have them.“
Zak Abel's Only When We’re Naked is out now on Atlantic Records, he plays London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on 22 March 2018.
