Polaroids with Jorja Smith
In town for a sell-out headline show in Brixton, we caught up with the breakthrough singer-songwriter and Drake collaborator for some analogue Impossible polaroids.
While Smith first hit our radar with debut single "Blue Lights", and follow up tracks "A Prince", "Where Did I Go?", her recent releases "Beautiful Little Fools” and "Teenage Fantasy" have continued to impress.
On "Beautiful Little Fools", Smith is ever-soulful, delivering a poweful message dismissing media-made, out-dated social constructs that still affect women today, while "Teenage Fantasy" is a glorious old school pop cut full of vibrant beats, golden vocals, and glimpses of yesteryear.
We also caught the sell-out Electric Brixton show in a set of live photos.
Following her London show, Smith is set to play Secret Garden Party in Huntingdon in July, Bumbershoot in Seattle and Made in America Festival in Philadelphia in September, before heading on tour with Bruno Mars for his US tour in October and November.
