All Apologies: Nilüfer Yanya
Ahead of her set at this year's End of the Road Festival Nilûfer Yanya takes on the Best Fit Q&A.
What's your present state of mind and being?
Can’t lie, keep flitting between really excited and then just stressed because I’m working on my album and doing loads of festivals this summer which means looooots of travelling and fitting in studio in between when I get back. Overall quite tired.
What's the most overrated virtue?
Silence :)
What one thing have you learnt from your parents?
How to apply myself to work...not something I’ve mastered yet but they give me hope.
What the most desirable quality you look for in romantic partner?
Errrrrrmmmm I have no idea really. Someone who's happy is quite desirable... there’s a lot of miserable people out there lol.
What and where was the greatest meal you ever ate?
Probably breakfast at my grandma's in Istanbul. Salad / breakfast but everything taste amazing.
What's your most treasured possession?
I guess my guitar.
What was the last dream you had about?
Really strange last night I had a dream I was late for a piano lesson (haven’t had any for a while ) and I had forgotten all my books.
If you could say something to your 15-year-old self, what would it be?
Chilllllll
You’re playing at End of the Road this year, our favourite festival in the UK. Which other artist playing the festival would you absolutely love to collaborate with?
Tirzah - I'm just a really really big fan. Her vinyl arrived yesterday!
And finally, who would you most like to apologise to and why?
My grandma in Turkey because I don’t see her often enough.
