All Apologies: Lady Leshurr
With a string of fantastic mixtapes and EPs under her belt alongside incendiary freestyles like "Queen's Speech", Midlands MC Lady Leshurr is one of the brightest stars in the UK rap scene. Ahead of her appearance at Lockdown Festival in September, she takes on the Best Fit Q&A.
What's your present state of mind and being?
"Well I'm currently in LA so all I can see is sunshine and palm trees so I'm happy. It’s amazing how the weather can change your outlook."
What's the most overrated virtue?
"Money. It’s a piece of paper that holds so much value and makes people change."
What one thing have you learnt from your parents?
"I learnt from my mom to never rely on anyone else and just do it yourself. This is something that has helped me in my music career."
What the most desirable quality you look for in romantic partner?
"Sense of humour. You have to make me laugh, that is what gets me through the day. Laughter is so powerful."
What and where was the greatest meal you ever ate?
"I really don't know how to answer that one. It is probably a Salmon dish but where it was I cannot say. I've had so many great Salmon dishes. If you don’t know, that's my favorite food."
What's your most treasured possession?
"My heart. I have to treasure it because it is so fragile. It is easy to guard but sometimes difficult to let people in."
What was the last dream you had about?
"Cardi B. I have no idea why, maybe it is because I think I would really get along with her. I like what she is about."
What's the biggest lie on your Wikipedia page?
"My age. Nobody gets it right and I find it quite funny to play the guessing game. It's not a big deal but I love thinking of new ways I can answer that question in interviews."
If you could say something to your 15-year-old self, what would it be?
"Be careful of people. You have to watch your surrounding. Not everybody is out to help you."
And finally, who would you most like to apologise to and why?
"Myself, because sometimes I can be quite harsh on myself. I should be kinder to myself."
