All Apologies: Saint Etienne's Sarah Cracknell
With their ninth studio album Home Counties recently released, Saint Etienne - the trio of Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs - remain as popular as ever. The band's singer, Sarah Cracknell, took time out from a busy schedule to answer our demanding Q&A.
What's your present state of mind and being?
"I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m a little bit stressed. With a new album out and a tour, a sick child and a rabbit with dental problems I’m a bit busy! We love that rabbit."
What's the most overrated virtue?
"Being Busy"
What one thing have you learnt from your parents?
"Swear words"
What's the most desirable quality you look for in romantic partner?
"Good humour"
What and where was the greatest meal you ever ate?
"Hostellerie De Plaisance Restaurant in Saint-Emillion, France. Insanely expensive but a long lunch I will never forget"
What's your most treasured possession?
"Cookie, our rabbit"
What was the last dream you had about?
"Very early last Sunday morning, with a hangover, and it involved self-loathing"
What's the biggest lie on your Wikipedia page?
"My age. I’m much younger than that!"
If you could say something to your 15-year-old self, what would it be?
"I’ll never forget my Mum saying to me 'if people don’t like me, I just think they’re jealous', wise words from a strong lady! I wish I could be a bit more like that!"
And finally, who would you most like to apologise to and why?
"Some very young neighbours I had when I was a student, in a flat in Boston Manor, they said 'we don’t mind you playing loud music but can you please stop playing Rick Astley?! Aaaargh!'"
