All Apologies: Ásgeir
With a new album due out on 5 May, emotive Icelandic musician Ásgeir has a big 2017 ahead of him including appearances at Iceland Airwaves in November...but first he takes on the Best Fit Q&A.
What's your present state of mind and being?
"Being in the now."
What the most desirable quality you look for in romantic partner?
"Humour is a big part of it all. Being able to laugh at and with each other."
What and where was the greatest meal you ever eaten?
"Christmas dinner at my mum’s."
What's your most treasured possession?
"Probably my guitars. I’ve got a few but I’ve got one that I use the most. It feels good. Some of the guitars I play because they sound good in different rooms and they’re bigger but I like to have one that is quite small. I like to use that one because I can sit on the couch, watch TV and just play it, you know?"
What was the last dream you had about?
"Last night I dreamt something really weird. I woke up around 9am and went back to sleep for a bit and in the dream, my family were preparing my funeral as they thought I was going to die but I wasn’t sick… So I was trying to tell them that there was nothing wrong and stop them from preparing the funeral. On the day of the funeral I wasn’t dead so everybody was just like 'OK, he isn’t dead'."
What's the biggest lie on your Wikipedia page?
"I can’t remember my Wikipedia page but I remember doing promo in Germany few weeks ago and they asked me about my records in sailing. They thought I did sailing before even though I didn’t, I actually did another sport. I think it might have been in some bio or something."
If you could say something to your 15 year old self, what would it be?
"Don’t take yourself too seriously."
And finally, who would you most like to apologise to and why?
"I want to apologise to all the guys I’m working with. I’ve been working with them on the last record and been a pain in the ass I think and I haven’t apologised for it. Sorry, guys!"
