Bartees Strange unveils final album preview, "Backseat Banton"
Bartees Strange has revealed "Backseat Banton" as the final track to be previewed from his forthcoming album, Horror.
The final track on the album, "Backseat Banton", which he performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live, serves as a closing statement for Horror’s shadow essay – Banton meaning storyteller in Caribbean mythology. In life, Bartees cannot decide whether to be along for the ride or struggle to grasp the steering wheel.
"Backseat Banton" follows Horror singles "Wants Needs", "Too Much", love letter to himself; "Sober", an introspective ballad about falling short in a relationship; and the album's lead single, "Lie 95".
Horror is set for release on 14 February 2025, via 4AD, and is available to pre-order now.
