Watch Canada's Woodpigeon in session for Best Fit in Iceland
This coming month sees the long-awaited new record from Calgary’s Woodpigeon, the collective centred around singer-songwriter Mark Andrew Hamilton.
Hamilton’s somber folk-pop sound has slowly evolved across nearly seven years of making music and Thumbtacks and Glue is as heart-wrenching and soul nourishing as you’d expect. We met up with Hamilton during last year’s Airwaves Festival in Reykjavik, Iceland, where we bluffed our way into the backstage of the biggest arts venue in the country, Harpa, and sought out a lone corridor for a Best Fit Session. Amid the Iceland Symphony Orchestra’s packing cases, Hamilton gave us the hazy ‘Oberkampf’.
Woodpigeon heads to the UK at the end of February to support Mark Eitzel in Glasgow, Hebden Bridge, Manchester, and Bristol before headlining a sold out show at St Pancras Old Church on 4 March. Full dates are below:
