Festival Preview: by:Larm 2014
Our love of Scandi music is no secret. In fact we’re pretty sure it’s a matter of public record but for all the incredible pop, indie and folk acts we fall in love with, the chance to see them live is pretty rare. The chance to see them live all in one place, even rarer. So naturally, we’re incredibly excited about by:Larm.
Taking place in Oslo from 26 February to 1 March in venues across the city, the festival has us excited no end, not only for the array of incredible acts which we’ve picked out below, but because it brings with it the Nordic Music Prize. Atlanter, Jenny Wilson, Rhye, Múm, The Knife are all amongst the 12 acts nominated for the annual award for Best Nordic Album of the Year, with the winner set to be revealed on 1 March at by:Larm.
For the third year in a row, Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) will present a packed program at the Kulturhuset (House of Culture) in the center of Oslo featuring a conversation with John Cale and a lecture by James Murphy amongst other events. It’s also the first year they’re running by:Larm Interactive, a two day mix of sessions, presentations, panels and showcases for new tech products, services and businesses.
But now to the incredible line-up picks we mentioned a couple of paragraphs back, we recommend you familiarize yourself with the below.
