Having just picked up the ‘Best Difficult Second Album’ accolade at last night’s AIM Awards, The xx are not resting on the success of recent effort Coexist, confirming that they’ll head back into the studio after the New Year.
“After finishing this tour, we will be doing some separate things, I’ll produce and DJ, but we will get back together after New Year’s and start recording our third album,” Jamie xx has told Swedish site Festivalrykten in interview.
Jamie xx himself is prepping a solo effort for release shortly, with recent speculation that he’s been working with Four Tet on an upcoming mixtape.
The xx’s new album will be their third to date.
