The Eagles founding guitarist to tour with band for first time since 1975
Don Henley confirmed in an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that founding Eagles guitarist Bernie Leadon will be joining the band on their History of the Eagles world tour.
Henley said, “Bernie Leadon is definitely on this tour.”
About why he quit, Leadon told Rolling Stone in 2008, “I just wanted some time to regroup,” adding, “I suggested we take some time off. They weren’t excited about that idea.”
While Leadon is on board, Henley added that band-member Randy Meisner will unable to join the band on tour due to health reasons. “We are all wishing him well.”
Meisner reportedly suffered from a choking incident in which he lost consciousness while eating. According to a statement by Rusty Young (who plays guitar in another band with Meisner), “Things are going to be a little rough for Randy for a while, but his doctors are optimistic he’ll recover from this incident. If you can, say a little prayer or just send love Randy’s way.”
