Lana Del Rey emerges from mixing new LP to share a new single and speak to Zane Lowe
Lana Del Rey's new single "High By The Beach" has been given its official debut by Zane Lowe.
Speaking to Lowe on Apple Music's Beats 1, Del Rey said that the track "started with the chorus". Adding that she "was driving by the beach a lot. This was probably one of the last ones on the record... even with the harmonies, it almost sounded monotone, but with the beat, it has this trap influence."
She went on to discuss her new record Honeymoon with Lowe: "The jumping off point was the end of the other one. I wasn't feeling too tired, still feeling inspired like I could keep going. I didn't think it would turn into an entirely new record, but by January I'd written three quarters of a record, and it felt really good. I've been mixing for probably eight weeks. It's so technical... sometimes it's good to go back into the studio and have fun writing.”
"High By The Beach" is out 12 August, but you can pre-order it now.
Del Rey's new record Honeymoon is expected later this year.
