Kyla La Grange announces new album Cut Your Teeth, streams “The Knife”
London singer Kyla La Grange has unveiled the latest single from her upcoming second album.
Following on from 2012 debut Ashes, Kyla will release Cut Your Teeth on 2 June. It was partly produced by Jakwob, Simian Mobile Disco’s Jas Shaw and Daughter’s Igor Haefeli.
After the album’s airy and sparse title-track, La Grange has now offered up the carnivalesque “The Knife”. Gone are the raspy vocals and electronic-based dark atmosphere, now replaced by steel-pan drums and synthetic beats.
The track is a lean, kaleidoscopic, slow-paced affair, with La Grange’s angelic vocals enchanting the listener with her shrilling yet mellow voice.
